Cawoodstock is a free music, arts and cultural weekend in Cawood, near York & Selby.

From rock bands to poetry reading, local acts come together every year during the August Bank Holiday weekend.

  • Is Cawoodstock free?
    Cawoodstock is a free festival. Venues will of course charge for food and drinks, and charitable donations may be encouraged, but no tickets are required for entry to venues.
  • Is Cawoodstock family friendly?
    Cawoodstock and the Fairy Trail are family friendly events. Some venues, such as the pubs, may ask children to leave after 9pm. Have a look at our What's On section to see a list of events specific for kids.
  • Where is Cawoodstock?
    Cawoodstock takes place in Cawood, a small village between York and Selby, in North Yorkshire. See our Getting Here section for more information.
  • How can I get involved?
    If you know the venue you'd like to perform at, please get in touch with them directly, as each venue arranges their own events. If you'd like to perform but aren't sure where, get in touch via our facebook page, and we can discuss arrangements.
  • Is there food?
    There will be a range of food options over the weekend. Venues such as The Jolly Sailor, The Pickled Postie, and The Village Tearoom, serve food and have menus you can browse. The Ferry Inn will be hosting a number of food vans over the course of the weekend, more details on our What's On section.
  • Are there toilets?
    A number of venues have toilet facilities and will be open all weekend such as the pubs. The Village Tearoom also has baby changing facilities.
  • Is there anywhere to stay overnight?
    We have a couple of places that offer rooms, The Jolly Sailor and Maypole Farm can both be found on booking.com. There are also two caravan parks and a campsite close to the village.
  • By Bus
    The 42 service runs between Selby and York, calling at Cawood as well as other villages such as Naburn and Wistow. You can view the full timetable below.
  • Walking
    Cawood is walking distance from surrounding villages such as Wistow and Kelfield. Please plan a safe route to avoid main roads, there are a number of back roads and footpaths that connect Cawood to other villages.
  • By Car
    Cawood is a small, compact village and parking is extremely limited, so please avoid driving if you can. Parking spaces can't be guaranteed, please consider residents by not blocking drives/access ways. Cars parked illegally or causing an obstruction will be asked to leave.
  • Cycling
    Cawood is a bike-friendly village and sits within cycling distance from a number of surrounding villages. Venues will be happy to assist with safe bike storage on request.
  • By Taxi
    There are a number of local Taxi firms based in Selby that can be booked in advance. A quick search will highlight a few that should have availability, but please contact them directly to arrange travel by taxi.
